The News & Documentary Emmy® Awards are presented as two individual ceremonies: categories honoring Television News Programming presented live on Wednesday, September 28th. Categories honoring Documentaries will be presented the following evening, September 29th. Both ceremonies are live-streamed on our dedicated platform powered by Vimeo.
We honor programming content from more than 2500 submissions that originally premiered in calendar-year 2021, judged by a pool of over 1,000 peer professionals from across the television and streaming/digital media News & Documentary industry.
The ceremony features the presentation of the Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship. The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship is funded by a grant from CBS News in honor of longtime correspondent Mike Wallace (1918-2012) and presented each year at the News & Documentary Emmy® Awards.
