The News & Documentary Emmy® Awards are presented as two individual ceremonies this year: categories honoring Television News Programming were presented on Monday, September 21st, categories honoring Documentaries were presented the following evening, September 22nd. Both ceremonies were live-streamed on our dedicated platform powered by Vimeo.
Katy Tur, NBC News Correspondent and Tony Dokoupil, Co-Host of CBS This Morning, host the Television News Programming categories of the 41st News & Documentary Emmy® Awards. In addition, our scheduled presenter included ABC News’ Chief Justice Correspondent, Pierre Thomas.
We honor programming content from more than 2000 submissions that originally premiered in calendar-year 2019, judged by a pool of over 875 peer professionals from across the television and streaming/digital media News & Documentary industry.
The ceremony features the presentation of the Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship. The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship is funded by a grant from CBS News in honor of longtime correspondent Mike Wallace (1918-2012) and presented each year at the News & Documentary Emmy® Awards.
